Busing
We are provided busing by WCSD to practice. Parents need to pick athletes up after practice. The schedule is as follows:

John Jay: Pickup at the Gym Lobby @ TBA
Van Wyck: Pickup at the Gym Lobby @ TBA

Wapp Jr: Pickup at the Flagpole @ TBA
Drop-off at RCK Gym @ TBA

Buses will drop athletes off at RCK at the gym shortly before practice. Athletes are expected to walk down to the weight room hallway and sit quietly until their practice begins. Bring HW!

For Middle Schoolers ONLY:

Middle School students who stay after waiting for the bus will be chaperoned by school monitors. Please check back for more information.

There is no busing to weekend events (practices and races), parents are responsible for pick up and drop off in those cases. Check TeamSnap for any updates regarding busing as the season goes on.

Races

The race schedule is below. If you cannot attend a race, PLEASE CONTACT YOUR INDIVIDUAL COACH ASAP. Even if you are not racing, you are expended to attend and support your teammates and help out with equipment.

Check out the Regatta Information tab for more details on races!

Spring 2022
The spring season is here! Click here for the race schedule. Water practice @ HRRA begins on 4/1.

Starting on Friday, April 1st, we will begin having practices at the HRRA Boathouse in Poughkeepsie!! The address is Hudson River Rowing Association 272 North Water Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. The district will provide a bus to practice, and parents are responsible for pick up after practice. Please check with the carpool committee if you want to arrange a ride for your child.

On Thursday, March 31st from 5-7pm we will have a full team practice at RCK for the last day of Winter Training. We ask that students still take the bus as Coach Matt will be there at 4 PM to chaperone anyone who gets dropped off. Everyone should come ready to work hard and have fun!

Friday, April 1st will be our first day up at the boathouse, from 4:30-7:30pm! We will spend the afternoon cleaning our equipment, organizing the bay, and rigging (putting together) our boats. This is a very important practice to attend, especially for any new athletes. We will be going over the entire boathouse and our fleet of equipment, so please make sure you attend. We will not be working out on 4/1, so everyone can get a nice rest before the NFA Erg race on 4/2! (Please see a previous email for details.)

We will be consolidated down to one bus for water practice, and the bus pickup schedule is as follows beginning on 4/1:

  1. John Jay HS- 3:30 PM
  2. Van Wyck- 3:40 PM
  3. Roy C Ketcham HS- 3:50 PM (TBD on Gym or Main Lobby)
  4. Wappingers Junior- 4:00 PM

And as a reminder, we have a zero tolerance policy for misbehavior on the bus. If any incidents arise, that athlete will be suspended from the bus for 1 week (2nd incident is a ban for the season.) All athletes must be on their best behavior.
The bus will be dropping students off at the boathouse around 4:30 PM. Anyone who takes the bus for a later practice, please bring homework or something to occupy you.

The following will be the practice schedule for the rest of the season beginning on Monday April 4th.
  • Varsity Girls: 4:30-6:30 PM
  • Novice Boys: 4:30-6:30 PM
  • Novice Girls: 5:00-7:00 PM
  • Varsity/JV Guys: 5:30-7:45 PM

For any upperclassmen who are driving and for drop offs, parking/drop offs will be in the north lot (like last year). No one besides coaches should drive/park in the main lot in front of the building or the south lot. If you get caught doing so by another coach, WCC will get in trouble. Pick up after practice will be in the north lot as well.

And as always, dress for the weather and bring lots of water. If it is windy, we will be running and/or erging. If its rainy, we will probably be out on the water rowing. If its sunny, bring sunscreen, etc.
